About the Residency
Jillat – Sami Dance Center invites circus artists to a two-week residency in Vuollerim, Jokkmokk Municipality. This residency offers access to Jillat’s fully equipped dance studio, providing a dedicated space for creation, research, and artistic exploration. Surrounded by the vast landscapes of Sápmi, this residency is an opportunity to develop work in a supportive and inspiring setting. The residency doesn't have a set date, we are open to find a time that suits with the artist that get the residency during 2025.
Artists in residence can use the space for training, rehearsals, and creative development, whether working on a new performance, refining technique, or exploring interdisciplinary collaborations with dance, music, or film.

Two-week studio access at Jillat’s dance center, designed for movement-based artists.
A fully equipped space with rigging points for aerial work, a heated dance floor, and a high ceiling suitable for various circus disciplines.
A creative and focused environment surrounded by nature, offering inspiration and tranquility for deep artistic work.
Connection with Jillat’s artistic network, including potential collaborations with dancers, musicians, and other performing artists.
Optional accommodation in Jillat’s artist residency housing (available at an additional cost).

Facilities & Technical Information
Dance studio: Aerial rig free standing tripod structure for aerial disciplines that can be set up in 4 or 5 meters hight
Flooring: Dance floor, suitable for acrobatics and movement.
Stage area: Space for work-in-progress showings or informal sharings.
Technical support: Available on request for rigging or setup needs.
