Residency: Manda Rydman & Anna Mariann McKenna
Manda and Anna Mariann are developing new contemporary circus work at Jillat, exploring transformation, recycling and visual storytelling. During the residency, they will share work in progress and an artistic conversation with the public.
Why Jillat Exists
Artists need places where creation can come before presentation.
Jillat was built to offer time, space and professional working conditions for artistic processes in a rural part of Sápmi. We want artists to be able to research, take risks, change direction and develop work without having to arrive with all the answers.
At the same time, Jillat creates encounters between artists, audiences, organisations and the local community.
A Safe and Non-Judgemental Place for Creation
We want artists and visitors to feel that they can arrive as they are.
At Jillat, different bodies, languages, cultures, experiences and ways of working are met with care and respect. Safety is something we practise through hosting, communication, accessibility, consent and shared responsibility.
Stage Art for Organisations
Bring an inspirational presentation, screendance, solo performance, full performance or artistic programme into your meeting, staff day or professional gathering.
Jillat works with connected artists and members to shape programmes that can include stage art, food, breaks, workshops and conversation.
