Jillat – Sami Dance Center, Vuollerim, Sápmi
Jillat – Sami Dance Center announces a two-week production residency for professional dance artists and groups from Sápmi and other Indigenous contexts who are in an active creation or finalisation phase.
Purpose
The production residency is designed to support:
Development and consolidation of choreographic work
Rehearsal and refinement
Preparation for presentation or touring
Technical and dramaturgical integration
The residency enables concentrated working periods within a dedicated dance center rooted in Sápmi.
About the Context
Jillat functions as a long-term platform for dance from Sápmi and Indigenous artistic practice. The residency contributes to strengthening structural conditions for Indigenous dance artists and increasing artistic visibility within and beyond the region.

Two-week production residency
Week 45–46
Public Presentation
The residency period aligns with public events at Jillat on 13–14 November, offering the possibility of presenting excerpts or completed work.
The format of any presentation will be developed in dialogue with the artists.

Dialogue with the hosting organisation

Specific financial conditions, travel arrangements and technical details are agreed in dialogue with selected artists.
