About the art
Praejhta is a performance about profession, vulnerability and courage. About different Sami women who all have a drive and a strength that can only be described as a primal force, or through dance and joik.
Through dance, joik, music, poetry and storytelling, this performance elevates various strong Sami women. What have they been involved in?
What has shaped them into the way they live today? Are there inherited traumas that Sami women pass on without their knowledge?
Can we describe the strength that Sami women possess? This performance raises these questions and looks for answers. Above all, we celebrate Sami women and give them a place in history.
Marika Renhuvud shared a work in progress of her upcoming production Praejhta that will premiere in Jillat after the summer holiday.
With her the dancers Agnes Nilsson Svakko , Marit Shirin Caroladotter, Tanja Andersson, Liv Aira and Marika Renhuvud joined in her sharing.
