Dancer, choreographer

Tanja Andersson (f.1986). Based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Born in Umeå with roots in Krama, Arjeplog (Svaipa) and Erkheikki. Contemporary dancer, performer, choreographer and teacher, with a background in sound and music, who often works interdisciplinary. Artistically interested in themes regarding balance; humor and vulnerability, "in-betweeness" or the edge where things collide or unite. In her solo work she uses what she calls "sami logics and turbulent practices". During the opening week she will share snippets of work from the indigenous residency Jårrh held in Dearna (July 2024) (Aejlies & Riksteatern) where she collaborated with composer Ánndaris Rimpi. Year 2024 Tanja has a working grant from the region of Västra Götaland.

About the art

A performance/practice that I worked with during Jårrh residency called Between Bone and Marrow. An "experimental" act, a performative improvisation based on spirals and fibonacci sequence; growing pattern in pine cones, DNA and nature with sounds from Ánndaris Rimpi. It can also have som physical theater. Will see in October.

Between Bone and Marrow // Mellan märg och ben

At the inaguration of Jillat, Tanja shared extracts from her work at Jårrh Residency in Dearna (through Aejlies and Riksteatern summer 2024).

Spiraling bones and fibonacci pine cones build a foundation of thought and movement while interweaving with composer Ánndaris Rimpi's soundscapes.

A group gathers and fill the space with voice, vibration and ancestral chains.
