About the event

Many presenters want to book more performing arts from Sápmi, but long distances and high costs can make individual performances difficult to arrange. How can Sámi coordinators, minority coordinators and local presenters plan together so that a production can visit several communities on the same tour?

Jimmy Lundegård, producer at JILLAT – Sami Dance Center, gives a lecture on the practical coordination of tours across sparsely populated Arctic areas. He will present a proposal for four tours per year featuring productions from Sápmi, using shared travel and joint presentation to reduce costs. The lecture is followed by a discussion of local needs, possible venues and what it would take to put the proposal into practice.

This lecture is part of Aktitit – Sami Performing Arts Biennial. You are welcome to attend this session without taking part in the rest of the biennial. The lecture is made possible with support from…
