Workspaces & equipment
Jillat has a dance studio, an amphitheatre, a music studio and shared areas for planning and individual work. Before your stay, tell us which spaces you need and how you intend to use them. Include any requirements for floor space, sound, lighting, recording or other equipment so that we can confirm a suitable setup.
Send us your technical requirements early, including any equipment you plan to bring. We will agree on what Jillat provides, what you need to arrange and whether technical support needs to be scheduled. Access to a workspace does not automatically include all equipment or a technician. These details are agreed as part of your stay.
Your accommodation
Our residency house is within walking distance of Jillat. It has three bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and laundry facilities.
Room allocation and whether you will share the house with other artists are confirmed before your stay. Let us know early if you are travelling with family or have specific sleeping or access needs.
Meals and food arrangements depend on your residency. Check your open call or agreement for what is included.
To prepare your stay, we need to agree on:

Travel & arrival
Use our visitor information to plan your journey to Vuollerim. Share your expected arrival time with us so that we can arrange your welcome and introduction.
If you need help with the final part of the journey, contact us before booking. Any pickup or transfer needs to be agreed in advance.
During your stay
When you arrive, we introduce you to the spaces you will use and go through access, equipment, safety and practical routines. We also confirm who to contact if you need help.
Shared spaces
Other artists or activities may be using Jillat during your stay. We coordinate access to shared rooms and equipment and discuss any need for quiet, privacy or uninterrupted working time.
Please leave shared spaces ready for the next person and report any equipment problems to us.
Changes to your plans
If you need additional space, equipment or support during the residency, speak with us. We will check availability and confirm any additional costs before making arrangements.
Our accessibility page describes the building and its facilities. For a working stay, we also need to consider the spaces you will use, your accommodation and your daily routine.
Tell us what would help you work and stay comfortably. This may concern mobility, rest, sound, lighting or communication. You only need to share the information relevant to making practical arrangements.
