Our Story
In a world where cultural budgets get cut, where war and pandemics fills the screens and where the overall mental health is declining, we found a mission.
Our goal is to spread positive and uplifting staged arts especially to the young generations and preferably to their home town, no matter how small.
To make this happen we have during the last five years been developing a new way to produce art, to plan for touring and to reach the audience. This resulted in a total audience of 26.000 people so far, touring 130 shows in 2023, visiting mostly rural areas.
With the opening of our new cultural center, Jillat, we are now sharing this with the world. With a Sami value base, deeply rooted in nature and respect for all life, we invite you to create art in a safe space free from judgement. First year of Jillat had more than 60 paid artist working in the house in different projects.

Wing It – A Circus Metamorphosis!
Inspired by the transformation of the moth, Cocoon Company invites audiences on a vibrant circus journey through the beauty, madness, and sometimes downright danger of change. Featuring aerial acrobatics, sword swallowing, and barefoot walks across broken glass.

Everything changes with time—so why resist when you can embrace the transformation?

The visual explosion of colourful costumes is an integral part of the story. Each costume is created through recycling, using discarded materials and forgotten remnants. From what has been left behind, something unique emerges—a reminder that both objects and people can be reborn, stronger and stranger than before.

About Cocoon Company
Cocoon Company is an all-female contemporary circus company that combines the immediacy of the sideshow tradition with a distinctive visual aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from science fiction, organic stage imagery, and moths, the company's artistic practice is deeply rooted in recycling and upcycling, with costume design playing a central role in the creative process.

A production place
In our art center you find a big dance studio, an amphi theatre, a music studio, a studio for costume design, inspirational workplaces for research and planning as well as hang out areas where you can meet up with other artists that might be visiting at the same time. You also find recording equipment and a place to store and if wanted spread your art.

A place to live
As a complement to our production place we bought a residency house for the artists to live in while working. There is also a possibility to bring your whole family if you want, since the house is big enough to fit up to eight people. Just ten minutes walking distance to the art center and three minutes to a supermarket and lunch restaurant.

A place to tour
Touring in Sápmi, the north of Sweden, Norway and Finland can be tricky because of weather, long distances and border issues like customs fees etc.
We offer a solution to all these issues since we have registered companies in both Norway and Sweden, which simplifies customs issues. We have a tour bus fitted for harsh weather conditions as well as subsidies for a tour after you finish a production at our place.
