A place in Vuollerim
Artists travel to Jillat from different parts of Sápmi, Sweden and the world. At the same time, the centre exists within a specific local context. The knowledge, relationships and everyday life of Vuollerim and neighbouring communities are not a backdrop to the artistic work. They are part of the place in which Jillat operates. We want artistic exchange to create value in both directions.

Meet artists working at Jillat
Some artists welcome studio visits, conversations or contact with local people during their residency. Others need a focused working period without informal visits.
The Artists at Jillat page explains what type of contact each artist has chosen.
Please respect the artist’s stated contact status and arrange all studio visits in advance.

Our volunteering project is not a one way experience, we always aim to make the experience both fun, challenging and developing, for us and for the volunteers.

We normally host around 100 volunteers per year in periods of one week to several months. The non-profit organization Invisible People Contemporary Dance has Quality Label from the European Union and is also a registered Eurodesk site. This means we help young people find opporttunities to travel, study and volunteer in the European Union.
