Welcome to Jillat
Jillat is a place for performances, concerts, workshops, artistic encounters and community events. The centre is located in Vuollerim, approximately 45 kilometres from Jokkmokk. Maybe you live nearby, or travel from different parts of Sweden or internationally. Either way, we want you to really feel welcome and prepared for your next visit to Jillat.
Getting here
By car
Vuollerim is accessible by road from Jokkmokk, Boden, Luleå and other nearby communities.
During winter, we have snow, ice and sometimes quickly changing weather conditions. Allow extra travel time and check current road and weather information before departure. We absolutely recommend that you choose a car with spikes during winter travels.
By train
The nearest railway connections may vary depending on your route and current timetables. Murjek is an important nearby railway station, with onward transport to Vuollerim requiring advance planning.

By bus
Regional bus services connect Vuollerim with surrounding communities, although departures may be limited at evenings and weekends.

Parking and arrival
Parking is available close to Jillat. We have 55 parking places and if the parking is full you are free to park on the street also.
Please arrive approximately 15–30 minutes before the event begins, unless other information is provided on the event page. For larger events, follow signs or instructions from Jillat staff when you arrive. We cannot offer electric connection to your car during winter, but you can get that at Hotel Vuollerim, Gästgiveriet, 800m from Jillat.
When you arrive
Jillat is an artistic workplace as well as a public venue. Depending on the event, you may enter directly into the studio, amphitheatre or another part of the building.
The atmosphere may be informal, but events begin at the stated time. Staff or volunteers will be available to help you find the right space.
If you are arriving as an artist coming for a residency, someone will meet up with you and give you an introduction.
Food and refreshments
Information about food, coffee and refreshments is provided on each event page.
Some events include food or a break, while others do not. Please contact us in advance if you have allergies or dietary requirements connected to a booked meal.
If you want to eat something before or after a show, we recommend D-corner or the Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet. You can also get something at Hembygdsgården just next to Jillat depending on season.
Accommodation nearby
There are accommodation options in Vuollerim, Jokkmokk and the surrounding area.
During festivals, holidays and larger events, accommodation may become fully booked. We recommend reserving your stay early.
In Vuollerim we recommend Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet where they also serve lunch every weekday.
If you are arriving as an artist you will mostly likely stay in our residency house, "The blue house" in Jägarstigen 12, Vuollerim
Visiting in winter
Winter in Vuollerim can be very cold, with snow, ice and limited daylight.
We recommend:
