Aktitit - Sami Performing Arts Biennal

Aktitit is a biennial for performing arts from Sápmi, based at Jillat – Sami Dance Center in Vuollerim. The festival brings together artists, local residents, visitors, presenters, institutions and others who want to experience, understand, book or present performing arts connected to Sápmi, Indigenous knowledge and contemporary artistic practices.

The programme includes performances, talks, workshops, informal encounters and shared meals. Aktitit is open both to professionals working with performing arts and to anyone who simply wants to experience performing arts from Sápmi in a close and welcoming setting.

The biennial is also an important meeting place for presenters and coordinators who want to find new ways of presenting performing arts in smaller communities, rural areas and contexts where access to larger performing arts networks is often limited.
