Låvda is a biennial screendance festival based in Vuollerim, in the heart of Swedish Sápmi. Created to center Sámi voices in the field of dance film, the festival brings together Indigenous artists, filmmakers, musicians, and cultural workers from across Sápmi and the world.

Låvda Sápmi Screendance Festival 2025

Låvda is not just a festival – it is a growing cultural platform that centers Sámi voices in the global field of screendance. Held biennially in Vuollerim, in the heart of Swedish Sápmi, the festival brings together Indigenous artists, filmmakers, choreographers, dancers, musicians, and cultural workers from across Sápmi and beyond. In 2025, Låvda returns with its second full-scale edition, offering a powerful mix of live and digital programming that invites both local and international audiences to take part.
This year's festival, 15-16th of November, with artistic residencies, workshops, talks, and public events that reflect a shared commitment to Indigenous sovereignty, cultural sustainability, and creative exchange. Through dance on film, live performance, and curated conversations, Låvda explores themes of memory, land-based knowledge, and the role of Sámi culture in contemporary art.
