Set on the Northern Calotte in the late 16th century, Mikko follows a young boy who dreams of becoming a warrior like his father and brothers. But as war reaches his homeland, he is forced to confront difficult questions about identity, loyalty and belonging in a region where people had lived across borders long before kingdoms drew their lines.

Based on Kai Söderhjelm's novel MIKKO – I kungens tjänst and adapted for the stage by Staffan Ehrstam, this compelling production brings history to life through the story of one boy navigating a world where every choice has consequences. Blending Swedish and Meänkieli with elements of Sámi and Russian, the performance connects the conflicts of the past with those of today, inviting audiences to reflect on who decides who is friend or enemy—and what it truly means to stand up for your people.
