Safety Rider / Hospitality Rider

What does a presenter need to know before hosting a performance, and what should an artist be able to expect? Beyond technical requirements and schedules, these conversations may involve working conditions, accessibility, language, cultural understanding, accommodation, travel and clear points of contact.

Jimmy Lundegård, producer at JILLAT – Sami Dance Center, gives a lecture on how a Safety Rider and a Hospitality Rider can help artists and presenters communicate their needs and responsibilities in advance. The lecture is aimed particularly at Sámi coordinators, minority coordinators and others who present performing arts in sparsely populated areas.

A panel discussion immediately after the lecture will explore the conditions marginalised groups need to tour and create art. This session is part of Aktitit – Sami Performing Arts Biennial.
