The sorrow of the earth

A work in progress dance performance that explores how an artistic process can express mourning, honoring and nurturing through the saying “What we do to the earth, we also do to ourselves.” The audience is invited to participate in dance that is both inspired by ceremonies and rituals and that arises in the moment.

Åsa Elowson

Åsa Elowson is a dancer, dance educator, physiotherapist and yoga teacher whose practice brings together improvisation, community dance and dance as a form of health, presence and connection. She works across artistic, educational and care-based contexts, creating inclusive spaces where people with different bodies, experiences and abilities can find their own movement and expression. Her work is deeply informed by nature, play and a belief in the body’s own knowledge.
