Jillat invites Indigenous dance artists and choreographers from Arctic regions outside Sápmi to apply for a
two-week production residency in Jillat, Vuollerim. The residency is scheduled in connection with the
Arctic Arts Summit 2026, where Jillat is a co-organizer and leads the dance strand of the summit.
This residency is designed for artists who are already in an active creation process and need concentrated
time, space, and production support to develop, rehearse, and advance a work. The focus is on artistic
deepening and production momentum—supporting you to move a project forward through studio
practice, dramaturgical/production thinking, and, where relevant, technical planning.
The residency may include opportunities to connect with the Arctic Arts Summit programme and
participants (format depending on the summit schedule), and to position your work within wider
circumpolar Indigenous artistic exchange.

Who this residency is for
• Indigenous artists/collectives from Arctic regions outside Sápmi
• Applicants working with dance, choreography, movement-based performance, or interdisciplinary
practices where movement is central.
• Individuals or small teams [max 2 people included but can be more at own cost].

What Jillat provides
• Studio/workspace access at Jillat, Murjeksvägen 31, Vuollerim (4000€)
• Travel support: Travel within Sweden to Arctic Arts Summit (500€) booked by Jillat
• Accommodation: In residential house 10 min walking from Jillat. Fully equipped kitchen for
cooking, livingroom with TV, wifi, laundry room with washing machine and dryer. (75€/single
room, 85€/double room per day.)
• Per diem: Food is included during the residency period, some dinners will be together with local
artists. (30€/day/person. Food is supplied by Jillat, emergency expences are reimbursed against
receipt.)
• Production support: technical support / producer / mentorship (planned ahead)

• Full participation for 1–14 June 2026
• A willingness to share process in a way that feels appropriate to you (open rehearsal, studio
showing, conversation, practice-sharing session)
• Respect for local protocols and community contexts while working in Sápmi
