Jillat – Sami Dance Center exists to give artists time, space and the practical conditions needed to create.

But a cultural infrastructure is more than a building.

Artists need places to work, somewhere to stay during a residency, technical resources, opportunities to travel and practical support to bring new work from the studio to an audience.

By supporting our work, you can help make those possibilities available to more artists.

Support Jillat

Invest in the infrastructure behind the art

Jillat – Sami Dance Center is operated by Aira Dance Company AB.

Our work is not only about what happens inside the studio. We develop cultural infrastructure that helps professional artists create, collaborate, develop new work and reach audiences.

Your contribution can help us provide residencies, travel and touring support, equipment, accommodation and other shared resources that individual artists often cannot build or finance on their own.

Artist residencies

Give artists time and space to work.

A contribution can help cover accommodation, travel, studio access, technical resources, artist grants and other costs connected to a residency at Jillat.

Our aim is to make it possible for artists to come here because their work needs the opportunity – not only because they already have the funding.

Travel and touring

Creating and presenting art in northern Sweden and Sápmi often means travelling long distances.

We therefore work with the infrastructure around the artistic work as well: transport, touring resources and practical support that can help a production move from the studio to its audience.

Shared cultural infrastructure

Some contributions can create opportunities for many artists over several years.

A touring vehicle, technical equipment, improved artist accommodation or new resources at Jillat can be shared between residencies, productions and touring projects.

Supporting cultural infrastructure means investing not only in one artistic project, but in the conditions that allow many future projects to happen.

Where it is needed most

You do not have to choose a specific purpose.

An unrestricted contribution allows us to use your support where it can have the greatest impact within Jillat and our work supporting artists and cultural infrastructure.
